Thank you. You showed us what to fix.

To everyone in the jjB!B beta: thank you. You joined early, you trusted a young tool, and you gave it the one thing no test can produce: real use, at real scale, on real game nights.

That is exactly what a beta is for. In the podcast episode on why the beta is closed, I said it exists to find problems before more people come in. It found them faster than I expected. This is what happened, and what I am doing about it.

What the beta brought

The beta changed jjB!B’s world almost overnight. With members on board, it opened up to many new leagues, got new alert features built for the people using it, and moved onto bigger server capacity.

On a busy weekend evening, jjB!B now follows dozens of live games at the same time, each one read every few seconds. That is a different league, literally, from where it started.

What the beta revealed

Before the beta, jjB!B ran for a small circle, on fewer leagues and quieter nights. Everything looked fast and stable, because nothing pushed it hard.

The beta pushed it hard. And one night made it impossible to miss: as new members came in, several things went wrong at once. That pressure showed problems no quiet test could ever have shown:

None of these showed up at a small scale. All of them matter at the scale the beta brought. Finding them now, in a closed beta, is the whole point of having one.

What is already fixed

I went straight into build mode. First a full audit of the platform: how it reads live games, how work is scheduled, and how the whole system is put together. Then several independent reviews checked every fix before it went live.

RUNNING NOW

  • Faster recovery. A stumbling live feed is retried within seconds, not several times later.
  • Smarter use of data. Each team’s background data is prepared once, before the game, not rebuilt again and again during it.

ALSO RUNNING

  • Updates without gaps. Improvements can ship while games are live, with no break in coverage at tip-off or in the closing minutes.
  • Cleaner schedules. League calendars now come in more completely and more promptly.

The rebuild, under way right now

The bigger step is happening as you read this. The core of jjB!B is being redesigned so that watching live games, sending alerts and background work each run on their own. A busy evening in one part will no longer slow down another.

This rebuild was not on any plan a month ago. It is happening because real members used jjB!B for real. Without the beta, the weak spots would only have shown up later, with far more people affected.

What comes after it

The new core also opens the door to a set of new features. Some of them come straight from beta members’ requests. I will announce them one by one on Telegram as they land, and they will make the alerts a lot more useful than they are today.

What this means for the beta

If you are in the beta, nothing stops. Your alerts keep coming while the rebuild runs, and each improvement reaches you as soon as it is proven. And as a thank you for the bumpy nights, every beta member gets one extra day added to their access.

For new places, I am taking it carefully. The beta has already done its first job: it showed what to strengthen. Before more people come in, I want the new core in place, so everyone who joins starts on the stronger jjB!B.

Every serious tool has a moment when real use shows it what it must become. For jjB!B, that moment is this beta. It came early, which is the best time for it. jjB!B will come out of it faster, steadier, and ready for more leagues and more people. Thank you for being part of it.

No picks. No odds. Just facts, fast.
