The transcript
Another question I get a lot this past week when I announced the beta of jjB!B, my first software, is why is it closed beta? Why are the places limited? As of right now, the jjB!B beta phase 1 is closed, no more people are accepted into it, people are getting into the waiting list right now. I hope to be able to release more places soon, I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but I hope to do it and I wanted to talk to you why do I have to dose it like this, why do I have to go step by step.
The reason is I take this beta very seriously, it’s also kind of a market research for me and I need to understand what the people want, what features they want, what leagues they want, so on and so on because I created jjB!B specifically for myself, it uses my logic, it gives information the way I want it, the way I use it.
It’s very essential to my betting right now, I use it every day, I cannot imagine my betting without it and as I told before, if I think that tomorrow I will not have access to it anymore, I will be looking at myself going back to stone age, so to speak.
It’s very important for me right now, it helps me greatly and it frees up so much time comparing to before. I still don’t have time because I have to do other things but at least I don’t have to switch between 20 browser windows at the same time and checking all the stats, numbers, names, so on and so on.
So the question I want to discuss now is why limited beta, why not accept everybody.
When I accept people into the beta I specifically tell them that they have to, I ask them to give me bug reports, give me ideas, give me features that they want because again I built it for myself, it’s my logic, it’s my brain and some things will not work for others I guess.
So the amount of work I have to do now in the beta is much much greater than before because before I was just fixing it for myself, I was fine-tuning it for my logic, for my brain, now there are other people and every one of them has their own logic, their own brain and they want information in their own different way maybe and they want other leagues, leagues I didn’t think about before. So it’s a lot of work and I don’t want to release the beta and promise people that I will fix bugs and introduce new features and then they request them and I don’t deliver. I don’t like that and I don’t have so much time to accommodate lots of people.
That’s why I dose the invites for the beta and they are closed for the first week and I hope that we will have some more open for the next week. I don’t know when this voice will release, when you guys will hear this but I’m recording it in the first week because these issues came up and people want to get in and they can’t because they are on the waiting list now because there are no more spaces open.
Again, I want to make sure that I fix the bugs, I introduce new leagues, new features and so far I did that and I’m actually quite happy with myself that whatever what people requested I fixed, I added and I will have more every day, more and more requests and I just can’t let everybody in because I will have no time for nothing if everybody will request some things that they want. The bugs thankfully are not that many but they do appear of course, it’s a beta and I fix them one by one so I have to dose the bugs also not to be overwhelmed by them.
So I hope guys you understand and excuse me that you don’t have the opportunity to get in and you have to wait for the spots to get open but please do get into the waiting list and when the spots will be released my bot will send you a message right away and if you want you will have the opportunity to get in. Thank you, bye.
